Chivvis and Lovell is the art business and collaboration of husband and wife team Jack Chivvis and Linda Lovell. We share a 1904 building in the heart of the Salida, Colorado downtown historic district. We operate a gallery and frame shop year round and have been in business for 25 years. While we prefer to meet our customers in person, we hope this web site can serve as an introduction to new, out of town customers and those who may wish to visit us.

Our gallery features an ever-changing selection of rare and unique antiques and small collectables as well as rustic furniture and locally made pottery.

Jack is a multi-discipline artist working with oil paints, found objects, pen and ink, hammered metal and rustic wood.

Linda is a certified picture framer with more than 25 years of experience and uses only the highest quality materials and techniques. She emphasizes a high degree of personal service and attention to detail and color.

Since we are a working studio-gallery, our walls and inventory change daily. As a result, it is nearly impossible to offer one-of-a-kind artwork and keep this site current. For this reason, this site features a variety of the kinds of work we do. We encourage you to come and visit our gallery and see the pieces in person. It is also very easy for us to respond to questions and send pictures via e-mail of current work that is on the walls. We encourage phone calls and enjoy chatting with customers.

Salida, Colorado, is a beautiful, small and historic railroad town in the Rocky Mountains. We are also an up-and-coming art town with many interesting shops, galleries and restaurants housed in one of the state’s best collections of late 19th century buildings. Salida sits on the banks of the Arkansas River, which is the most popular whitewater sports river in the country. Fly fishing, mountain biking, skiing, climbing 14,000 foot peaks (there are 12 in the area!) are just a few of the many attractions.

More than 50 professional artists now call Salida home. Fifteen galleries offer a wide range of art. During the last weekend in June, Salida hosts Art Walk, its biggest art event in which the entire downtown celebrates the visual arts. Throughout the year, special Second Saturday gallery events are held on the second Saturday of every month.

Feel free to call or email us with any questions or comments.
